Chris - The Subject

This year, I took it on myself to try to get my 293lb self into shape this summer. I did some running, worked out in the gym, watched what I ate, but in general, I wasn’t very disciplined the entire time. So, I had this crazy thought that my buddies at trisport media might be able to help me get into triathlon shape for next year. I barely got the idea out of my mouth and they were all over it. And being an avid podcaster myself, we’ve decided to cover the entire process online! Yikes! Here’s a sample:

So, here’s the deal; over the next 9 months, the professionals and triathletes at trisport media are going to whip me into shape with the goal of running my first triathlon in July. It might happen sooner, but it will happen by then. A trainer, a nutritionist and plenty of peer support. What more could a guy ask for other than to catch his breath?

From here you’ll be able to find my blog, progress reports, training and nutrition plans that they are going to be giving me, and a video podcast which will chronicle the entire project from initial weigh-in to my first race around July 1st. You’ll be able to follow and contribute to my success throughout the entire project. Join us!

Hey Chris,
That’s awesome that you have a plan and a goal. I’ve been hitting the gym a few days a week since March, but I havn’t been serious enough either and I think your progress is really going to motivate me too.
I meet with my trainer tomorrow (we meet every 2 weeks).
So good luck and wish me good luck.
I’m at 310 lbs, so I know how you feel.

At month 8, I’m holding steady at 266 lbs. Wanted to get to 250 by the race, but doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Ah, well. I’ll do what I can, and go from there.
