Day 87: Pushing Forward
I woke up this morning and immediately popped a couple of ibuprofen. I probably slept wrong, but also still dealing with soreness in other areas. My neck still hurts a bit from last week. My left leg which started hurting on Monday still hurts. My chest and shoulders are still sore from Monday’s workout. And now, my left ankle hurts to walk on (this is a recurring problem with my ankle joint).
Today I went in and did my normal Wednesday workout. For the most part, its just a typical day. Some exercises I completed and will be upping the weights on them, others I hit muscle failure on. The only real differences occurred in my cardio workouts. When I finished my first set of strength training and noticed that someone was already on the Stair Mill, instead of waiting I did my 1 mile run first. During the run, my lower back muscles started hurting quite a bit. Almost like little cramps. I had just finished 3 sets of back extensions, so I think that probably was what throwing everything off. I stretched them after the run, but it was the first time I remember having that sensation.
After the second set of strength exercises, I went to wind up my workout on the Stair Mill, and about 10 floors into a 20 floor climb, my hamstrings on the left leg (maybe I’m protecting it because of the sore muscle?) started cramping up. Well, I didn’t want to end my workout early, so I moved to the Arc Trainer and did 6 minutes at 15+ METS.
Its almost 6PM now, and I’m very tired. Feel like I’m ready for bed, even. Still have to swing by the library, though, so I guess my day isn’t quite over yet.
