Day 30: Swimming
So, still feeling good. Struttin’ around in my now-i-can-fit-into-them-again khakis. Just finished lunch from Panera after today’s swim.
I didn’t have any running/workout clothing at work (thought I did) but I did have my swim suit and goggles, so I went swimming. The only problem is that I had a meeting from 11-12, so I didn’t get into the water until about 12:35. Of course, the swim session ends at 1. Since I only had about 25 minutes, I decided to notch up the swim a bit and see how many lengths I could knock out. I did 62. 70 would have been 1 mile. If I’d had 4 more minutes, I would have hit my 1 mile in 30 minutes mark, which would have been 1/2 of my 2 mph goal.
HOWEVER, at this point, I really don’t think I could have kept up that pace for a full hour. I was already starting to cramp in the calves and my form was starting to deteriorate because I was so tired. I see that its possible, though, which is cool. I just need to get the stamina up some more.
My swim trunks are too loose. Hard to keep on. I pull the string tighter, but it just bunches the suit up and makes them uncomfortable. I think I have my old (smaller) suit around somewhere. Guess I’ll have to start looking.
