Weight Training
Chris has almost finished his first program. There is one more day remaining and then a new one will be designed to keep the body guessing and not plateuing. Since Chris is still in the beginning stages of this life long committment, we will be still keeping a focus on total body muscular endurance and conditioning. There is no reason to train with heavier weights and lower reps yet… although that will come. I will be sure to provide the workout once Chris has started it.
On Chris’s weight gain - I see 1 lb. as maintaining that week. There are so many factors that could have been the difference to see that on the scale. Like Chris stated, stress was definitely an issue that week, diet was probably certainly affected, lack of sleep, water retention, etc. There are lots of possible causes for a minor gain like that. He hit the nail on the head though when he stated his clothes are feeling more loose. That’s what we want to see. Much better than getting stressed out over what the scale says. I would much rather hear updates on the way certain clothes fit than what number came up on the scale. The truth will be told on Monday when he gets his body fat done.
I hope everyone is as proud of Chris as I am. In 4 weeks there has been an incredible difference in strength, balance, proprioception, etc. Distance on the treadmill has improved in the 12-minute run/walk and I feel confident in saying that certain aches and pains that were associated with being sedentary are now going away. Keep it up buddy!
