Day 23: Cardio and Missing Time

I feel like I’ve been abducted! Or worse! Today I lost 6 days of my food journals over at Google Notebook.  No clue what happened.  They were there, and then they weren’t.  Honestly, I’m not conspiring to hide the evidence of what I ate that NOTORIOUS week that I gained a pound.  We’re looking for a new option to keep that from happening again.

Today was a great workout.  60 minutes of cardio.  15 minutes on 4 different machines. I suspect that next month I’ll be doing 20 minutes on 3 different machines to start building my endurance, but I’m not sure. Perhaps I shouldn’t speculate?

Anyway, I can firmly say that after my claims that doing weights at top speed feels like a cardio session, that I was wrong.  These cardio sessions are MUCH harder than the weights as far as endurance and breathing are concerned.  My muscles get tired doing the weights.  My whole soul gets tired doing cardio.

A number of people besides Mike and Jamie have come thru and said to ignore the 1 lb, so I guess I’ll ignore it.  Apparently its to be expected.  I’ve also found out that water weighs somewhere between 8 and 9 lbs a gallon, so water weight can fluctuate your weight as well. For the record, I drink about half a gallon of water a day, sometimes more, so I’m generally fairly well hydrated.  Tomorrow, back to the pool.  Hope its a full day. :)

I’ve got to say, that while it may seem weird or ‘gutsy’ to put all of this out there, the returns to me from you folks in the form of comments and such are totally worth it.  Even other people at the gym are really motivational with their positive reinforcement. Handshakes, pats on the back, “you can do it”s.  Thanks for everything so far.
