Gains in 1 week
[Mike] I have to say (although only 1-week since we started training) Chris certainly has the motivation and drive to keep this going. Chris has had to tolerate a few things early on (on my end) like random meetings and other things that keep me from always going one on one. I would love to be there each and every time for Chris, but in this environment, it’s just not doable. What it has showed me though, is that Chris can do this on his own (even early on) without someone standing over his shoulder setting up seat adjustments and weights. And that is something he will learn more and more as time comes and be able to use this throughout his changed life.
Chris’s schedule:
Monday - Weight Training / 20 minutes cardio total (broken up throughout)
Tuesday - 60 minutes cardio (long duration / low intensity) Variety of 3-4 different pieces of equipment
Wednesday - Swim
Thursday - Same as Monday
Friday - Same as Tuesday or Wednesday (Chris’s choice)
Saturday / Sunday - Active Rest
** As noted before, Chis is only one week into his strength training program. Today we finished Chris’s third time through the workout and already he has made many strength gains. Chris is up 35 lbs. in the Cybex back row, 30 lbs. in the Leg Press, 15 lbs. in the Tricep extension, 22.5 lbs. in the Lat pulldown and 20 lbs. in the DB Chest Press… to name a few. I will say he has dramatically improved in all exercises - in weight, muscular endurance, balance, etc.
