Day 199: Hopeless Cause

Well, not really hopeless, but some days it feels like it. After running the 5K on Tuesday, I was stoked again. Very excited to keep going. you know, there’s a 10K on May 25th that I’d like to try. I may not place well, but I’d love to run it just to run it.

Anyway, Wednesday after the 5K, I needed some personal time and I didn’t work out. Thursday I was in the gym again, tho, and Friday I was in the pool. Friday was odd though, because swimming the mile in 45 minutes was more like a truck pull. It was very hard to move. I wasn’t ‘tired’ so much, but just totally devoid of energy. I don’t know if it makes sense, but next time you’re there you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Saturday revealed the cause of my slothfullness. I’d caught my kid’s cold. So, Sunday was out and Monday was still pretty much out. I got wiped out going up and down the stairs in my home.

Tuesday I went to my Physical Therapy appointment. That’s like half a workout. I broke sweat during the 10 minute warm up and it just kept going.

Today I had planned to do my monthly weigh-in and then go for a run. Wanted to do the 5k again. In fact, I got all the way to the gym, stripped down, reached for my clothes and realized that all I had in my gym bag were my boxer-briefs, socks and running shoes. not wanted to get arrested, I aborted. Ah, well. There’s always tomorrow.
