Day 181: Photo Collage

Yeah, I know I’m supposed to be posting video soon, but this was a bit quicker and looked fun. Besides, I’m totally swamped with work, so it might be a few days before I can get to editing the footage. Also, these shots weren’t taken by us, they were taken by the man who maintains BristolCT.net.

1. Here’s my little girl, racing her heart out in the Kids’ Fun Run.
2. If you notice, the little pair of purple pants and the leopard coat from image 1 are now up in a tree in image 2. The woman in the yellow hooded coat to the left of the tree is my wife, NOT watching our girl.
3. Here you see me as I lower my little girl OUT of the tree while the rest of the pack takes off.
4. Here you see me jumping into the run, already in progress, at the very end of the runners and right in front of a wall of walkers.
5. Here you see me coming into the finish line and wondering if perhaps being dead wouldn’t be preferable to what I’ve just gone thru.

Okay, so I’m wondering if maybe you’re hinting just a little that had your wife been watching your girl and you hadn’t taken her out of the tree you could have maybe finished earlier? Mom says it took you 20 minutes? I’ve said it before and I will say it again I couldn’t do it. I’m very impressed. Love you lots give your little girl kisses for me. How’d she do in her race? I’m hoping to get Aliya in swim lessons this summer!!!!!

Great job Chris!
I’m really bummed that I couldn’t be there to root you on, but I am so very proud of you! Keep it up and I promise I will be there for a race soon!

On another note, I’ve begun to motivate co-workers out here in AZ to trail for a marathon… I’ll keep you posted on that! I’m just getting back into shape for the San Diego Marathon on June 1!

No problem. Life moves forward! By the way, did you see the shirt I was wearing? I got it before we moved from the 5 Century office building. I couldn’t wear it at the time because it was too tight.

That’s what I call progress!!!

Jen,

Actually, I’m NOT blaming my wife. I’m blaming it on my kid. Its ALL HER FAULT. No, actually, it just made for a very interesting start to my first race. And the only reason you can’t do the run is because you decided to stay in Washington. If you were out here, you’d be running with me.
