Day 178: 2 Mile Run

So, I spent the whole day at an off-site location for some training. The whole day was a predefined schedule with only 45 minutes for lunch. The next two days will be similar. Still haven’t made it into the gym to weigh-in this week, but I suppose missing one week won’t matter in the grand scheme of weigh-ins.

I got home early enough to go running. I went and ran the course I’m supposed to run on Saturday. Supposedly its 2 miles, but I ran it in roughly 15 minutes. That’s 2 7-minute miles. Surprising to me, since the last time I ran my 12 minute run I only covered 1.33 miles. That’s not even an 8 minute mile. How could I come back after not running for a month and do 2 seven minute miles?

I went to mapmyrun.com and mapped out the course on their system, but it says the run is only 1.7 miles. If its right, then I’m probably still running at my standard speed. If its wrong and the run really is 2 miles, then the exercises that I’ve been doing besides running seem to have been paying off.

I guess I’ll find out more on Saturday when I actually do the run.
