Day 174: 6 Month Weigh-in and Weekly Recap

Well, its almost 5pm on a chilly but definitely spring Saturday afternoon. This week has been a real mixed bag. I think I’ve only worked out once. Monday was the doctor’s, and Tuesday belonged to the MRI technicians. Wednesday I did cardio at the gym and weighed in. Thursday was stolen from me by a meeting that went 40 minutes into my swim session (yeah, I didn’t pack for the gym, only the pool). Friday I was back at the doctor.

I’d love to tell you how it went at the doctor, but I need to learn a little more. Right now its about as clear as mud. Which apparently is what the pictures from the MRI looked like as well. I can tell you now that its NOT the best scenario, but it seems doubtful that its the worst, either.

Today I didn’t work out, but I don’t think I’ve stopped working around the house all day. I’m ready for a nap, and decided to take a moment here on the couch before I get started on this evenings activities, which are NOT going to be calm and relaxing.

STATS:

Well, this should have been a big week, being the end of 6 months and all, but I’m still not supposed to be running, and the Tanida body fat machine still hasn’t been replaced.

I weighed in at 262 lbs. I did 45 push ups. Both are an improvement, and I’ll take them.

Improvements aside, I need to start looking at other options besides the gym. Life has changed dramatically for me at work. When Brett was my boss, he was a great buffer between me and a lot of stuff at the company (meetings, politics, etc.). Also, we used to have a 3 man team, but with Jim moving to more of an architectural role, and with Brett leaving, the Web Multimedia team is now just me. We’ve been able to push off a lot of work, such as the print design, but even so, there’s a lot more work for me now.

I need to find ways to work out at home in the evenings or in the mornings so that I can be more flexible when it comes to planning my time. With spring coming, I can go outside, which is cool, but unfortunately, I’m not too sure I should be running too much. I’ll be getting my bike ready soon.

Finally, I thought the Shamrock run was today, but its actually next Saturday, so I’ll be all prepared for that, I hope.
