Day 120: Weigh-In & Way Out

Ok. Straight to it, then. I weighed in at 263 lbs. So, I’ve finally hit the official 30 lbs lost mark. I was feeling very tired on Monday, though, and I only ran 1.32 miles in 12 minutes, which is a bit under what I did last week.

On the one hand, I’m down 30 lbs and happy with the progress, and its better than the 6 lbs/month average that Mike said I should see. All I have to do is walk to the dumbbell rack and pick up a 30 lb weight to shock myself into understanding what kind of stress I’ve taken off of my system. On the other hand, its hard to look back over the last 3 weigh-ins and see only a 1 lb drop.

I think part of it is my fault.  I need to focus a bit more on my eating.  I implemented a number of changes right away, and I saw an immediate difference. However, there are more things I should be doing that I haven’t yet started.  I still eat more grain than i probably should, and I don’t eat as many fruits and vegetables as I should.

I really WANT to see 2 lb drops / week. How realistic is that going to be? I’m not sure, but I’d rather run my first triathlon at 220 lbs rather than 230 lbs.

After weigh-in, I did my Monday strength routine. Its all body-weight based. no weights. It totally kills me. I’ve done it 3 times and it totally kicks my butt. With my head still full of gunk, it felt like it was going to rupture by the time I was done. Sinus pressure build up! Ouch!  Anyway, I’m weeks away from even THINKING about conquering this routine.
